Back in the Saddle Again at the Evergreen State Fair!

4-H Fair Exhibitor!

I hope you had a safe and enjoyable July 4th! I am writing to bring you some news regarding the Snohomish County Fair at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe, Washington. This year, the Fair will be held August 26 through September 6 with an off day on September 1. You have done an incredible amount of great work and now it is time to bring it to the Evergreen State Fair. Whether you were in Minecraft or on one of the robotics teams, you have the chance to bring it to the Fair for judging, ribbons and premium!

There is a page on the Snohomish County 4-H Technology website that walks you through registering for the Fair. Please read it and the Fair Handbook for Mechanical Science - Technology. Both contain important information on what is available and what you need to do in order to get your exhibit entered.

A general overview of the events can be found here:

We will be located in the 4-H Building (501) and will be taking exhibits on the Sunday ahead of Fair, August 22. We will be judging the exhibits on this day. You have the option to speak with a Judge in person or simply submit your exhibit for judging. In the event you want to speak with a Judge, a Sign Up has been created to reserve your spot. In order to avoid a lot of waiting, please reserve your space and arrive a bit early in the case the entries are moving quickly.

As a reminder, you must submit a poster in conjunction with any project entries. The poster's contents are of your choosing and covers some topic on technology. Poster supplies are available at any general merchandise store like Fred Meyer, Wal Mart, and Dollar Store. Don't forget to put your name on the back side of the poster, not the front! The poster is due on August 22. You can submit the poster at the same time you submit your exhibit.

Also, stewardship is a requirement for Fair as well. The requirement is 4 hours total. For your convenience, blocks of two hours each are provided in the sign up genius below. Get your reservations in early! Stewardship consists of helping the superintendent for the department, talking to the public about our great work and conducting demos for the public.

Now, on to passes. Yes, you have to purchase entrance tickets to get on the fairgrounds as an exhibitor. The price is nominal and outlined below. Tickets can be purchased by contacting your club leader. Similar to previous years, you buy passes in 6 day blocks. Purchasing two will get you in every day of the Fair. Note, you can not use the same pass twice in the same day!

Entrance passes:

4-H exhibitor - $10 for a 6 day pass

Registered Volunteer/Leader - $10 for a 6 day pass

Parent Passes - $30 for a 6 day pass

One day pass - $8 good for only one day

Parking passes:

One day parking - $9 good for only one day.

One day parking with in/out privileges - $12 good for one day but can come and go as you need.

Full season parking - $100 good for all 11 days and you can come and go as you please.

Half season parking - $50 good for 6 days of fair. You must choose either 1st half or 2nd half when ordering. Also you may come as you wish with this pass.

If you have questions regarding entrance tickets or parking passes, please consult with your club leader. If you are looking for RV reservation information, I don't have that right now and suggest you contact the Evergreen State Fairgrounds for additional information. https://www.evergreenfair.org/142/RV-Park

Finally, the booth needs adult volunteers to man the booth and keep the department going throughout Fair. The Fair requires the booth be staffed during Fair hours (10:00 AM - 10:00 PM) and we have a small department. If you are interested in being an adult volunteer, please sign up here:
